It is the only combat axe with a cleave stat and actually starts cleaving 2-3 targets with normal attacks at 50% even without the blessing. With brutal momentum and proper stats it can probably be one of the best melee weapons in the game.The strength of Tactical Axes are the good crit/weakpoint hits, very fast attack speed, and above average dodge. Heavies do good against the backs of Bulwarks (unyielding) and Maniacs. Lights will do good against Mutants (nothing crazy like a chainsword, but still solid).

Bolter+Tactical axe is my preference for Veteran, because I can throw BM on the axe, and tac axes have a nice mobility to damage output ratio.
